Welcome to the event page for Saturday 7th February at Accrington Town Hall.

We’re delighted to welcome you back for our first event of the year and can’t wait to get started.

All ages will be combined for this competition, with the day split into three main sections: Latin, Classical and Ballroom. We’ll be finishing the evening with our much-loved fun dance from Blackpool, and we’d absolutely love to see lots of non-dancers getting involved again.

A Body of Persons Approval (BOPA) has been issued for this event by the local Council. Under BOPA conditions, the priority is to ensure the safety and well-being of all event participants, with particular attention to children up to school-leaving age. This should be considered a team effort between:
* Event Organisers
* Event Staff
* Licensed Chaperones
* Dance School Teachers/Leaders
* Parents/Guardians/Responsible Adults

It would be much appreciated if all attendees could take note of the following information.

Photo/ Video Policy-
As this is a private event for event participants and their family/friends, our organisation would like to be able to permit the use of cameras to capture these special memories. We would however like to bring your attention to the following:

f you are intending to upload photos/videos of your participant to social media, it is recommended that you consider your privacy settings so that you limit your audience to close friends & family. Our team may also take videos and photos to use on AN social media pages. If anyone does have any concerns/objections to this or would like us to make adjustments for any particular event, please speak to your dance school lead who will communicate this with our events team.

Child Supervision & Sign in/ Sign Out Procedure-Participants up to school-leaving age are supervised by a responsible adult at all times. Participants of this age will not be permitted to pass our door/security team without a responsible adult accompanying them. On arrival and departure, event participants are asked to inform their teacher/group lead so that they can record attendance times at the event.

The Designated Safeguarding Lead for AN is Jessica Porter, who will be in attendance for the duration of the event and will be based on the stage. Alternatively, you can email info@onthebeat.dance

Event Location

Accrington Town Hall Postcode– BB5 1LA
Parking- As the venue is in the town centre, there is lots of on street parking around the venue, most of which is free on Sundays. If you are joining us on a Saturday, all the streets vary so please check carefully before leaving your car. The tesco close by has free parking for up to 3 hours and the Arndale can park closes at 5pm.

Emergency Evacuation Procedure

In the event of a building evacuation venue staff will take the lead and give directions.

The fire assembly point is on the Broadway Strip outside shops like Poundland.

Venue staff will assist in the opening of all fire exits to ensure a safe exit. Please vacate the building as calmly and quickly as is safe to do so.

Do not attempt to re-enter the venue unless instructed by the on-site staff or the attending fire officers. No access will be permitted until the Duty Manager or the attending officers give full site safety clearance.

If you are a responsible adult accompanying an event participant and it is safe to do so, please try to locate your dance school lead person at the assembly point to let them know that you have safely evacuated the building

First Aid

Should anyone require medical assistance at any time during their visit, please alert any of our staff or venue staff. There will be multiple first aiders available throughout the event.

Food & Drink Policy

The venue has a bar serving hot & cold drinks all day. Hot dogs, chips, pizza etc will be available and a tuck shop. Packed lunches are permitted to be brought inside the ballroom but can we kindly ask everyone to clear away any rubbish before they leave. Please don’t bring hot takeaway food or drink inside.

 

Please have your wristbands on and fastened securely before entering the building. Lost, damaged or forgotten wristbands will not be replaced and will have to be re-purchased.

There will be a limited number of wristbands available on the door – priority access will be given to those who have a wristband in advance.
Please note that bands are only available to people attending with a dance school and are not on sale to the general public.
Payments by cash & card are accepted.

Wristbands purchased on the door are priced at £25

Allocated Seating- All seating will be reserved clearly with your dance school name.
